BALHAM has a number of issues concerning anti-social behaviour, thefts and other petty crimes which affects consumer confidence on the high street for businesses and where everyday life is fraught with tension for residents who perceive these as unsolvable issues.
This Youth Project aim is to make Balham a more desirable place to live and visit. To make the Balham experience second to none, where local businesses and local community groups share the same vision and passion for its future.
By working in partnership with local businesses, the community and the Police we believe we can help to achieve our mutual aims and objectives.
This youth project will work with underprivileged and challenged children who tend to get caught up in anti-social behaviour and thefts from businesses and residents. We believe that local youths would benefit from a project that offers support through youth club type activities, building engagement respect and mutual trust. The funding would buy sport and recreational equipment such as footballs, a gaming console and T.V. along with video games.
WHY ARE WE ASKING BUSINESSES FOR HELP?
This project will require a small amount of funding and this is where the local businesses have a huge role to play. We believe that when the local community see local businesses actively supporting this project, they will, in turn, strive to support local businesses, fostering a sense of Pride and affection for where they live, work and play.
