The Capital Fund is a new venture sponsored by the LDA that has raised £50 million from public and private investors to back fast-growing SME's and management teams capable of delivering that growth in 32 London boroughs. The fund was launched in 2002 and will be invested over a period of up to 6 years. Initial investments can be up to £250,000 and the fund has the ability to invest up to a further £250,000 after at least 6 months. In some circumstances, alongside other new investors, The Capital Fund can follow-on its investments with up to £5m in total in a single company.
