2010 Balham Street Festival

Hundreds of people crowded into Hildreth Street on Sunday 8th August for the 2010 Balham Street Festival.

Presented once again by Tony Moore & Fayon Cottrell, the festival returned with another massive line-up of 14 local music acts over 4 hours, each performing 3 songs on a quick on-off stage turnaround…

Amongst this year's line-up was the return of Lou Jordan as Elvis – who  opened the show and the very popular ‘Imagine the Beatles’ tribute band, who closed the show.  Also on stage was a very special tribute to Edith Piaf by the incredible Susan Black, and more still a special appearance by Lenny Zakatek, the true voice of The Alan Parsons Project. WOW!Others included the very ultimate in new talent with Maria Infantino, the daughter of the legendary opera star Luigi Infantino.

There was alsoa fashion show on stage by Evolve.

Local businesses lined the street with stalls.  Participating local businesses included The Cake Embassy, Taste of Sicilly, Harrison's, Fara, Balham Bou, Jamiacan National and Hot Bikram Yoga.  McDonalds provided free face painting, which was particularly popular.

Balham Street Festival is all about bringing people together, a joyful experience for all, where communities interact with one another regardless of age, color or creed.

A big thank you to all our sponsors- Evolve Magazine, Hot Bikram Yoga, The Balham Partnership, Wandsworth Council, Newridge, Essential Local, The Bedford, Harrisons, McDonalds and Robbies Photographics, who provided the photography for the day.

A special thank you to Rocco Buonvino.
