Wandsworth Borough's Metropolitan Special Constabulary
Special Constables are expected to conduct the same duties as their regular colleagues and are issued the same uniform and equipment and are also given the same powers of arrest.
The Wandsworth members of The Metropolitan Constabulary play an important role in providing additional officers at peak periods such as Friday and Saturday nights. They also play a vital role in major central London events such as the London Marathon, Trooping the Colour, the Lord Mayor's Show, and The University Boat Race.

The Community Safety Unit (CSU)
The CSU is responsible for the investigation of hate crimes within the Borough of Wandsworth. This includes racist crime, domestic violence, homophobic crime and hate mail. Both male and female officers, who are specially trained to deal with these crimes, staff the unit. It is also responsible for maintaining the register of missing persons. The unit is committed to working in partnership with both the statutory and voluntary organisations in the borough to improve the quality of life for the residents.
