Online licensing alerts for residents
With a wave of new licence applications expected shortly from local pubs,
clubs and late night cafes now is the time for residents to set up an
email alert which can warn them of proposals in their area.
The service is available free on the council's new events database at
href="http://www.wandsworthdiary.com">www.wandsworthdiary.com
Simply choose your part of the borough from the drop-down menu and then
click on the 'licensing applications' category. You do not need to select
a date range.
This will run a search of all known licensing applications in the chosen
area. A prompt in the top right hand corner of the page will give you
the option to have this search emailed to you weekly.
Council leader Edward Lister said:
"This is an easy way for people to stay abreast of licensing applications
which could affect their local community.
"You only need to set up the search once and as soon as there is
an application in your area you will be the first to hear about it.
"If residents have concerns about a particular establishment it
is important they tell us. If an application for a new licence attracts
no objections, the law says it must be approved."
Applicants seeking a new licence also have to display a notice on their
premises setting out the proposed changes.
Details of all licence applications together with information for applicants
and objectors are available at href="http://www.wandsworth.gov.uk/licensing">www.wandsworth.gov.uk/licensing
You can also use href="http://www.wandsworthdiary.com"www.wandsworthdiary.com
to receive email alerts for all public notices normally printed in the
local newspaper. These include major advertised planning applications
and traffic notices.
